About Me
Zoraida Sanchez was born on September 2, 1948 in Aibonito, Puerto Rico. She arrived in Grand Rapids, Michigan, in 1976. She graduated from the Commercial Institute in Puerto Rico in 1968. She continued her education at Grand Rapids Community College, where she studied sociology/gerontology, and also attended Ferris State University in Big Rapids, where she took courses in gerontology…
Noticing the lack of services available to Hispanics in Grand Rapids, she set out to make a difference. She was director of Latin American Services from 1981 to 2002 and founded the Hispanic Senior Citizen Center, where daily meals are served to Hispanic seniors. She provided numerous support services to the Hispanic community and seniors.
She has been a leader in the Hispanic community, speaking out and taking action when she sees injustice, always acting with determination and integrity. She has served on the Board of Directors of many local non-profit organizations. He has received recognition for his advocacy for the Hispanic community at the federal, state and local levels.
For the past four decades he has owned his own business: Sanchez Income Tax & Translation Services, LLC, where he offers a highly professional and fully guaranteed service, which ensures his clients’ peace of mind. In addition, he provides employment opportunities to approximately nine people in the community. She also provides tax preparation classes for tax filing services.
